In the Central House of Artist on November 8 starts exhibition of contemporary art of North Korea ’s North Korea: In the rays of the spring sun”. The exhibition will be presented works of artists of the Creative Association “Mansudae” and the Institute of embroidery (Pyongyang, DPRK). Visitors to the exhibition can see more than 200 unique works (paintings, drawings, prints, porcelain, crafts, embroidery on silk, as well as casebooks (Korean painting of natural colored stones). This exhibition is a unique Union of traditional «Korean painting” and what a socialist North Korea.
Creative Association “Mansudae” founded in 1959 and today is the largest art Association, which represents industries such as painting (oil and Korean painting), fresco, graphics, sculpture and applied art (embroidery, porcelain, dolls). «Manage” made a great contribution to the development of the fine arts of North Korea, whose works are the embodiment of state ideology.
Artists of the Creative Association “Mansudae” – the authors of the most important artistic and architectural monuments of the DPRK, historical significance, including: the interior of the Pyongyang metro, Monument to Juche idea, the Triumphal arch in Pyongyang, a monument to commemorate the founding of the workers ‘ party of Korea and monument to the Three charters of national reunification. In different countries of the world ’s Manage” have erected monuments and monumental buildings, to allow people of different cultures to learn about the superiority of the fine art of the DPRK.

Pyongyang has long been famous for embroidery. The embroidery Institute was established in 1947 and its main objective – to continue and develop the tradition of the Pyongyang art of hand embroidery. For more than 60-year history, the Institute has created many masterpieces of art embroidery, including works depicting the great leaders of the Korean people. Pyongyang traditionally embroidery is done on silk “kamwanja” silk threads of different colors and thickness. Usually to create a single cross medium size requires 2 months of hard work the artist-visualize, but for a large masterpiece required several months and sometimes years. Themes for embroidery are landscapes, flowers and animals, Korean beauties in national costume, the modern life of the country, portraits of people. The most famous masterpieces of the Institute of embroidery, is worthy in the Treasury of Korean and world culture, is a “Tiger”, “Sea Kumgang», «the Wild geese moonlit night”, “dance with the drum”, “Girl on a swing”, «Lake Change”, “magenda”. Individual works will be presented at the exhibition of contemporary art of North Korea.
